If you have been trying to add a clickable link to the ebook version of your children’s book using Amazon’s FREE tool called the Kindle Kids’ Book Creator, then the video above is for you!
We will look at:
- why I STILL recommend this tool for the creation of our ebooks,
- why a clickable link can be SO very beneficial to us and our ebook,
- and I will show you, step-by-step, how to go about adding a clickable link to our ebook directly in the Kindle Kids’ Book Creator.
If you would like step-by-step guidance on how to use the Kindle Kids’ Book Creator, make sure you watch my separate video here.
To make all this as easy as possible for you, I went ahead and added the exact code snippet from the video for you below. Simply copy and paste it into your ebook, adding your own text and your own URL.
<a href=”your full target URL with https part”>the text you want to show</a>
PLEASE NOTE:
Sometimes, when we copy and paste code into the Kindle Kids’ Book Creator, the tool adds an extra set of quotation marks. So we will always want to make sure there is only ONE set of quotation marks wrapped around our URL.
Using one of my own links as an example, this snippet would look something like this:
<a href = “https://www.eevijones.com“>www.eevijones.com</a>
So while we see THIS in the HTML code viewer:
To learn more, visit <a href = “https://eevijones.com“>www.eevijones.com</a>.
… our readers will see THIS in our ebook:
To learn more, visit www.eevijones.com.
ADDITIONAL RESOURCES:
- If you would like to link your Ebook to your very own AUTHOR WEBSITE, but don’t have one yet, I hope you’ll consider Author Website Studio – where a domain is optional, an expensive hosting platform not needed, and monthly fees not invited.
. - And if creating a clickable TABLE OF CONTENT in your Ebook is important to you (for example if you have written a middle grade chapter book), then I would recommend using SIGIL, a free ebook software I am recommending and sharing within Children’s Book University and in Formatting Mastery.
